Scotland - Stirling Castle

Our last full day in Scotland as a family; anybody up for one more castle?

The ayes have it.

Grant sets his iPhone navigation coordinates to Stirling Castle, a nice wrap up for our Suneson family reunion in Scotland on our way back to Edinburgh.

Stirling Castle, outside of Edinburgh has played a prominent role throughout the history of Scotland. Robert The Bruce stands ready on his plinth to greet us as we approach the gate, reminding us of his victory over a superior English force at the Battle of Bannockburn, a turning point that sealed Scottish independence in 1314.

Wow! Nice job of photographing this epic castle. I believe it might be near the historic battle of Stirling Bridge, where I believe the Scots put quite a few Englishmen to the sword.

Ah well. Water under the bridge as they say. Time for friendship and the drinking of oiuscea, once called aqua vitae, now called whisky.
