Scotland - Back to Edinburgh for a Celebration

 June 26, 2024

Returning from the Isle of Skye, we drove east through forested glens that seemed similar to the the landscape and trees I know from my American Pacific Northwest travels. I said as much, and Inga replied, "I was just thinking the same thing." The rain which encourage the ferns, the verdant growth and familiar trees brought a peaceful and easy acquaintance for our journey back to Edinburgh.

Inga, our daughter, was set to celebrate her birthday at the end of June, our son Grant had a birthday coming right after on the first of July. Kaileen, our daughter-in-law had recently celebrated a birthday in mid-June while in London. I pledged to Inga and to all who were born in the summer months, "It's your birthday and I will buy you a drink and highland beef steak dinner in Edinburgh."

Let's hasten back to Edinburgh where we have reservations for five in swell quarters on Princes Street where our celebration will begin. It will be fine evening before the kids fly back to the States.

Designated Birthday Girl Inga, raises a glass and awaits her

Dress up and gather for a fine dining experience.

Happy Birthday to Inga - and to Kaileen - and to Grant!

We started late, ate well, laughed long and were the last to leave.

May it be said that the road goes on forever and the party never ends.

In the morrow, the young ones will fly from Edinburgh to the western lands. I and Sue will linger for three more days in Scotland before our road takes us back to Texas.
