Oregon Trail 2010 - By the Numbers

Inga mostly twiddled away the summer at home in Big D; too hot, too few friends to drop in on, too bad and soo sad for the socially active sophomore at the University of Oregon to endure.University classes started Sept. 27, long after all of her friends returned to school.

She was ready for the Left Coast long before it was ready for her.    She and two friends, Katie and Laura, had secured an apartment across from campus prior to finishing their freshman year in the dorms.  They rented a local storage unit for their bulky things dredged from the dorm rooms and parted ways until Fall. The apartment came furnished, so it was just a small matter of coordination with her mates over social networking sites during the summer to arrange for utensils and other small sundries to finish out the living quarters.  Inga packed up an old set of plates and bowls, some extra knives and bought an electric griddle and crock pot.

Mom wanted to be part of the apartment move-in, but could not get away from work obligations until the 15th of September.  The apartment lease began Sept. 15, and Inga figured she should be there on the 15th when the keys were distributed.  The parental plan was handed down; the 4Runner was to be packed with all of her apartment and personal necessities, we would leave Garland on the 15th and arrive in Eugene on the 18th.  We would move her in then, but not before.  Overland travel was cheaper than airfare and shipping all of her stuff.  Plus this was gooing to be a roadtrip.

Sit back and enjoy the journey,  Nothing better than a westward roadtrip!
