Spanish Mission Trail of San Antonio, Texas

South of downtown San Antonio is a chain of four missions built by the Spanish in the middle 18th Century.  We have been to these ancient structures before, and I wanted to return for the solitude and the chance to do some photography.
These churches are somewhat restored and host active congregations that are a part of the Diocese of San Antonio. We Spent the afternoon wandering these sanctuaries and courtyards before going onto to Fredericksburg, Texas to stay with friends.

MISSION SAN JOSE

MISSION SAN JUAN

MISSION ESPADA

With the setting sun, we come to the end of the Mission Trail and drive west to Fredericksburg to meet and stay with Dave & Teri Ewing.  Dave was my housemate in Austin while we attended the University of Texas.
