Marion County, Oregon, Gets a Good One

Inga called me last week and even without emojis available on the voice connection, I could tell she was beaming with good news.

The good news is that Inga will begin working as a tobacco education specialist in the Marion County Heath Department.  Her ambition and focus since her days at the University of Oregon has been to work in the Non-Profit/Public Health sector devising, implementing and teaching public health, with an emphasis on tobacco cessation.  She says the job description for her new position is a near perfect fit to what she has wanted in a career since graduation.  We are all excited for her.  Marion County made a wise and excellent choice in calling inga to fill this position, they will benefit immensely from her ideas and hard work to the benefit of the citizenry.

Inga spent a year with Multnomah County (Portland) Health Department as a VISTA program participant.  She showed great energy, imagination, creativity and a host of sweet skills in that position and came highly recommended by her co-workers to the staff in Marion (Salem) County.  With a career now launched and a significant paycheck on the horizon, ever the frugal manager of her affairs, she set out to get her hair cut and buy some new rain gear for the coming Oregon winter.  Once a Duck, Always a Duck - and a duck must be waterproof.  Inga is a Smokin' Duck (only figuratively, but not literally, as that would be hypocritical).

Go get 'em Smokin' Duck!
